Aparna Unnithan serves as Senior Analyst, Center Of Innovation & Excellence (COIE) for Shashi Group and is responsible for overseeing the marketing initiatives for Shashi Group and managing the user experience for the technology application within COIE.
Aparna brings more than a decade of analytics, product management, and marketing experience across industries like government, financial services and media. Prior to joining Shashi Group, she worked with the New York city government where she led several business intelligence projects for the Mayor’s office of data analytics, Department of Investigation, and other agencies across the NYC government. One of the highlights of her career was spearheading the development of an Analytics platform for the Mayor’s homeless prevention initiative garnering the opportunity to present the solution to the Mayor’s office and other top NYC government officials. The innovative solution facilitated data sharing across government agencies and enabled early government intervention to prevent families or individuals from losing their housing.
Previously, Aparna worked within product management and analytics for Nielsen Audio (Arbitron) and was part of the team which developed the first-ever five-platform media measurement initiative for ESPN. She started her career with Oracle Financial Services Software Ltd where she consulted for Citibank on their Anti-Money Laundering Business Intelligence team. Additionally, Aparna also has a startup and entrepreneurship background with experience managing her own entrepreneurial venture as well as working with the Government of India in a state-run startup incubator.
Aparna received her MBA in Entrepreneurship & Marketing from Simon Business School, University of Rochester, and a B.tech in electronics & communication engineering from the University of Kerala, India. She is married and currently resides in Cupertino, California. In her downtime, she enjoys creative pursuits such as painting, DIY upcycling projects, and dancing.
