Ella Herman

 Ella serves as Corporate Controller for Shashi Group overseeing all financial activities for the portfolio.  She brings three decades of experience to the role, having served as Controller, Corporate Controller and Director of Finance for Hilton, Clarion, and independent brands all within the South San Franciscan Bay / Silicon Valley area.

Her familiarity and expertise in transitioning and unifying disparate Accounting Systems provides for streamlined operations and the corresponding cost savings.  She has overseen various multiple property collections, bringing structure and updates to the information reporting systems, all according to GAAP compliance.  Further robust skill sets include forensic audit proficiency and a strong Human Resource knowledge base.

Elle also brings the sensibilities and a General Manager mindset to her work, since she has additionally served as a General Manager for three properties, and thoroughly understands the challenges, requirements, and opportunities of the Shashi Group General Managers; and is instrumental in guiding their understanding and utilization of the various reports for more effective and profitable operational results.

The breadth of her experience has been noted by being tasked to lead the rebranding and renovation project of the San Jose Park Plaza to Clarion and was very successful driving the smooth transition to the new policies and compliance factors.

Ella brings to her Controller functions a very welcome sense of humor and engaging warm personality not normally associated with a financial expert.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the Ben Gurion University of Negev, Israel; and MBA in Economics from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology.  Ella lives in Sunnyvale with her husband of thirty-plus years and their daughters and dogs and can often be found enjoying the local hiking trails with all of them.
